Default How many gaskets on Mk2 axle oil seal?

I'm rebuilding the rear brakes and installing new outer oil seals on my Mk2 and confused about how many paper gaskets there should be. My car had only one each side (under the oil-seal retainer plate), shop-manual diagrams only show one, but parts manual says there should be two, and so do some online resources. Anybody know what is correct?

Looks like one gasket which makes sense. The parts diagram in SNG Barratt shows multiple shims potentially. Otherwise the car has two gaskets- one per side.

Thanks CSBush. An additional gasket on the inboard side didn't make sense to me as it would then be like an additional shim affectng the end-float.

I got the schematic from an AutoBook, which also shows something different for disc brake setup. They did show a paper gasket on my first post behind and in front of backing plate. Part #s, I don't have, but parts book copies are available thru Ebay and prices vary.

Hi Hemisfear, you have duplicated this post, see your other post too, it should be 1 per side.
