Inner tube
We'll see, I have no car right now, the Jag is leaking brake fluid internally on the booster, and I'd like to get the Bentley dealt with first.
Re inner tubes. The only time I have had them in the last 50 odd years has been when wire wheels are fitted.
Otherwise, all of my MK1, Mk2, Mk7, MK8, XJ6 series 2&3 cars, X300 and X308 have run tubeless.
I can't remember what was on the MK5.

Never did that. The only "leaky" wheels I ever had were on XJ40 and X300 alloy wheels.
Nothing significant but have also experienced this on non-Jag alloy wheels and presume the alloy is slightly translucent to air pressure.

So just a general clean Bill before fitting new tyre? Did you have any rusted wheels?

Weirdly enough I never had any rusty wheels in the bead attachment area in my many Jags. I certainly had some elsewhere on the wheels and used a sandblaster to clean them up.
Some of the umpteen other family cars including Fords, Holdens, Datsuns etc did require cleaning up on the bead areas and a useful tool there was an angle grinder fitted with a cup brush.
