Default Mark 2 radio antenna option?

Ive noticed even though a radio was installed, at least 5 right hand drive cars had no antenna on the fender or roof.
Was it an option or did it have to do with euro country regs?
Thanks in advance

So far as I am aware, the radio antenna could be fitted on the front fender or roof. There was a hand wound up variant available in the early days. So far as I know, there are no restrictions as to where they could be fitted, or not!
