MK2 Off-Center Steering Wheel

MK2 Off-Center Steering Wheel
So, I am working on the installation of my XJ40 seats into my 64 MK2. I was struck by how off-center the steering wheel is. I guess it is obvious but until I tried to find a "center line" to orient the seats I never noticed how pronounced it is. Anyone else observed this?

It was just an observation. I am not looking for a fix. The original seat mounts do align with the center of the steering wheel, but the wheel and seats are off-center with as Jon says a bias to the center line of the car. It just became much more noticeable when I began to install the XJ40 seats because the seat cushions are not as wide as the originals. Additionally, if you look at the original lower seat cushions they are not symmetrical. If I center the XJ40 seats on the steering wheel there is a pretty big gap between the outside edges of the seat cushions and the B/C pillar. I am going to compromise and install my seats more to the center of the space between the console and the B/C pillar rather than centering them on the steering wheel. So I will just end up with a kink in my neck from steering off-center with my right arm! Again, just an observation. If I would just stick to original instead of multiple modifications I wouldn't run into all of these issues! But, then look at all of the "fun" I would be missing and my wife would miss out on all of my rants.

My daughter is looking at me oddly as I laugh out loud at the screen, I'm sure she's convinced I'm mad. If you shove your firewall back further you could drive yours from the back seat, then you can slide along to suit !!!
