Removing the wood trim from my 1965 Mk2 to refinish it. Have most of it out but can't figure out how to remove the wood from the A pillars either side of the windscreen. Can anyone help please?
From memory on the S Type and it should be the same on the Mk2 there is a single screw at the base of the A pillar wood which is hidden by the end of the dash top. So you have to remove the dash top first then remove the single screw. The top is held in place with a single screw that goes through the metal of the door frame into the back of the A pillar wood. This screw is hidden by the door seal rubber which you have to peel away to find.
Correct Cass. Single screw from behind door seal at top in channel. Single screw at base. Don't think the dash ends get in the way but not sure. Dash top definitely does. See hole in wood for base attachment on tongue which is totally hidden.

I replaced all my screws that hold on woodwork from under the external door seals with Stainless Steel. The originals rust like hell. Strongly recommend. Had a great time finding all the correct lengths so they don't come right through the wood trim but worthwhile.
