Default Need Original Webasto folding sunroof opening dimensions

I posted a recent request looking for an original Webasto folding sunroof to install in our MK2. I may have found one, so I am requesting if anyone in our MK2 community has a MK2 with an original Webasto folding sunroof to measure the opening (length and width) when the roof is totally opened. Also if one could measure from the center of the windshield top to the front center of the opening. This will give us the placement then for the opening.

Thanks

If no one has the dimensions of the hole, which might be difficult to measure accurately if their roof is in place why not make a cardboard template from the roof frame that you have. Stretch it out on the floor work out the size of hole it would need to sit in and then cut out a cardboard template. Offer this up to the roof of the car and work out where you want it. Mark around the outside of the template and then cut a hole about a 1/4 inch smaller than the template before offering up the Webasto frame. Always cut smaller than you need and enlarge it to fit. Difficult to weld material back on if cut too big.
With regards to its position I would have it back slightly further than the original position. ie further away from the front screen.
Two reasons.
1. From my experience too far forward and you get a lot of air disturbance around the heads of the front seat passengers.
2. As I use my car as a wedding car it would be nice if the roof opened up more over the heads of the rear seat passengers.
Generally the Webasto roofs I have see have been too far forward. Just my opinion.

You are spot on Cass. I always had them placed further back on my Alfas & seldom used the deflector as a result.

I’m pretty sure you have found the solution by now, but here’s a picture of sunroof w/messures on my -64 S-type (may not be same as Mk2). My car has the hole and frameworks but is missing all the rest. Where did you find your sunroof?

Thanks for the reply and no one else has provided the requested info.

I will send PM to you as to my possible source of parts.
