Hello all,
Does anyone have a source for this rubber seal?
I am talking about the seal that goes around the inner hinged door operated by the Operating Arm Assembly, for Scuttle Ventilator Lid, not the rubber seal that fits on the body below the ventilator lid.
Thanks,
Lin

I don't think this is available, but you could try a long-established Jaguar supplier that supplies parts for the older cars like SNG Barratt.

Fraser,
Thank you for your response. I have tried SNGBarratt, XK'S unlimited, Welch, Bassett's, David Manners, Martin Robey, and Scott's in Australia. So far no joy!

Lin, some years ago I was faced with the same problems when refitting my heater. Those that are not on show can be replaced by the use of strips( Or cut from a sheet) of adhesive backed closed cell foam.If not fully flexible, ie making corners, some thing of similar flexibility as draught excluder was found useful. In many cases small leaks can easily be tolerated for many uses !!.I had to improvise the heater to body seal, thats easier as they can be cut from sheet. After all all you need is a good seal. The efforts I made are still in use many years later.

It was back in the 80s but I still remember removing this inner flap seal prior to freeing up the flap. It was broadly rectangular and of circular section about 1/4-3/8" diameter with a slot on the inside so it could be fixed to the edge of the flap. My seal was still in good condition as it was only 15 years old when I removed it !! As others have posted, you'll have to improvise. I don't think this seal is even shown on any of the parts drawings. It may not even have ever had a part number.

It has a part number: BD9877, but no diagram. However, the slot is on the outside and it fits around the plenum opening. The door closes to the rubber seal.
