Default Replacing the Fore/Aft front seat motor in XJ40 seats

Hi folks,
I posted this on the XJ 40 Forum, but it occurs to me that those of you on this Forum who have installed electric seats in their MK2 may know more about this than many of the XJ40 owners.

With help from Bryan Neish I was able to get the wiring straightened out on my XJ40 front seats. However, on the driver's seat (LH) the motor operating the screw drives to move the seat forward or rearward is not functioning. The good news is that I have a spare seat frame with spare motors.

Clearly it is important that the tracking of the motor on the screws remains perfectly parallel. Rather than just diving in and ripping things apart I wonder if anyone can give me instruction on how to disassemble and install this motor?

This is a photo showing the location of the motor in the seat frame. Any help would be appreciated.

Lin

I have a similar problem and wondered how you resolved this problem. It seems to me I need to cut the bolt holding the cover to the gear drive to access the system?
Any help appreciated, Chris
