S-Type Brake Callipers
I came across a cheap set of S-Type front brake callipers for rebuild which i'm planning to use on my MK2, from what I can see they should just bolt straight on and use the same discs (Albeit with different pads).
Although I appreciate they probably won't make any difference to the braking (i've never found the MK2 or S-Type original brakes to be a problem), I like the idea of the seals being a more conventional design and I can buy new pistons for them for a lot less than the cost of MK2 cylinders.
Does anyone know who would be a good source of pistons and does the retartion pin system come with new pistons, do you have to move it from your old ones or do you just leave it out? I understand the theory of them but in practice do they actually do anything or does the slight pad knockback thats present on discs suffice as it does on most other cars?
I found someone selling the pistons for £36 each plus delivery but wonder if anyone knew anywhere less expensive or anyone who can supply them in stainless?

I can't help with pricing but the caliper over return pin system has IMHO never been effective. Just never push pistons back any further than you have to when changing pads & you won't suffer a low pedal or mushy pedal. Bleed from longest line to shortest.
