Hi all,

I have recently purchase my first vintage Jaguar, an S-Type.
I am unable to determine it's month and year of manufacture.
Is this information stamped into the body or a tag somewhere?

Ben,
congratulations, your car registration should have the VIN and the model year *first year of registration).

also there is a plaque behind the engine, at the center of the bulkhead / firewall, which has the VIN, and other important numbers.

with the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), go and register at the International S type Register where the Registrar can tell you the month and year of manufacture, which was usually months before the car was released / exported to any given market / country.

The car came with a mass of receipts and old registration slips.
Some show it as being a '64, others as a '65, hence my willingness to determine when it was actually built.
I have contacted David at the registry.
