yes,
the company Andover Restraints in the USA sells retro seat belt kits for classic Jaguar.
click on below link:

1953-72 Jaguar Seat Belts.Call (302) 629-8508

also, please add your location (UK, US, AU) to your profile so other members know where to refer links to you.

Needless to say, you may have to install the anchorage points as a 1955 car is unlikely to have them. This will involve some drilling and welding. My Mark 2 of 1967 already had the anchorages installed.

The genuine belts in my car had lovely miniature "leapers" on the clasps

fortunately Andover sells all the hardware needed, no welding required. They also have the clasps with "leapers".

My '65 S type came with BMC clasps. ( British Motors Corporation? ).

Nina,
not very far from you, to the east of Sweden, there is Finland, correct ??

in Finland there is a famous restorer called Fiboy who has restored and improved many Jaguars including a Mark 1, here is his website:

FiBoy's Jaguar renovations; Mk 1, Mk 7 Saloons and XJ 12 Coupe
