Whooops! Where did that come from? My first MK I.
So I spent weeks and weeks looking for a nice topaz beige Jaguar XJS 4.0.
And Whooops! Where did that come from? I ended up with a Mark I instead.
It is a non-running 1959 3.4 Mark I with a broken tie rod end.
So you need two people just to push it (one to keep the wheel straight). :-)
My name is Andy and I am a caroholic! This is #54.

I literally bought it over lunch in my dress pants and shirt yesterday.
I didn't want anyone else to steal it in front of my eyes.
So I didn't crawl in every corner underneath. But I did check the trunk bottom.
The body on the outside looks pretty decent. The engine turns over by hand.
The dashboard is complete. The seats look terrible. And one tie rod end is broken.
Overall not a bad car. My plan is just to get it running, driving and stopping.
No $30,000 restoration.

In a weird twist, my Mark 1 didn't happen afterall.
Only one day after I made a down payment on the 1959 Mark 1,
an XJS came on the market that I had been waiting for for a year.
Well-maintained, low miles and the V12 goes like hell on wheels.
So I left the Mark 1 seller his $200 down payment and apologized.
And my XJS seller was nice enough to knock $200 off the price.
Life happens and now I have my V12 grin back.
I should probably start a ticket budget.
If I could sneak it into the back of my garage without getting busted,
I would still get the 1959 Mark I. :-)
