Has anyone comprised a list of the grommets and rubber plugs needed for the engine compartment? I have a spare pars catalogue and it does not offer any diagrams that would be helpful. A lot of mine are perished and not sure if replacements are available, plus not sure which sizes to order from Barratt.
I'm going to respray the engine compartment so everything is being removed so new rubber will be necessary.
The SNG Barrat grommet kit includes all. The car's plug kit you are going to have to hope someone has done an engine compartment listing. I just bought every plug in the Spare Parts Catalogue as I was doing a total restoration.
Thanks Glyn. I did see this kit but not ready to buy it yet since I probably need less then half of the grommets included. Once I get the entire dash out I'll have a better idea of what is needed since I'm also replacing the main wiring harness
There is a list of the grommets and plugs in the spare parts manual near the end of the "Electrical Equipment" section. It identifies them by part number and provides a general description of where they go. I found this by accident looking for something else. It does help you identify all the grommets in the SNG kit but as you said, no diagrams.

These changed slightly from year to year which they don't tell you in the 1972 Parts Book. e.g my car is supposed to have metal plugs in the spare wheel well. I have them but have not got around to fitting them. At the moment they are plastic/rubber.

Should have had points deducted from your concorde score for that misdemeanour Glyn. I will have to write a letter to the South African Jaguar club. lol.
It is impossible to restore a car to SA Specs. Many of the materials used are not available and have not been for many, many years. My car would walk the JCNA rules as to what is rated & what is not.
I even went as far as fitting the flimsy British Shelly Jack sticker and all.
I have the original SA hydraulic jack in it's leather sleeve that was provided with SA built cars.
