i have a 01 XK8 and i'm getting a lot of oil residue in the bowl. Causing P1229 and P1000 error codes. Changed out the air filter and cleaned the bowl, but getting same problem. Anyone with any suggestions?

The P1000 error code is completely normal. It isn't an error. The P1229, however, indicates a problem with the throttle body. Head over to the XK8 section there. I'm sure a lot of people will be able to help you.
