Welcome to the forum David,

I see you are posting this question across several model forums and I've just removed one of them from X350 forum. Please restrict it to the relevant model forum. The later models have veneer on a different base and the manufacturing or restoration process uses different techniques to the older plywood based panels.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj40-xj81-25/ to the XJ40 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome to the Forums.

Usually a re-veneer and top coat.
Members in your area/market may have other suggestion.

Welcome. The best source for Jaguar wood restoration, IMHO:

XJ6/XJ12 Series 1-3 (britishautowood.com)
