Default 2003 Super 8

I'm looking into a 2003 Super 8 Vanden Plas with 68,000kms on it. Can anyone tell me what to look for? I've always loved Jags and this black on black looks fantastic but I want to know the pitfalls of Jag ownership

Welcome to the forum. Just read through some posts and get a feel for the X308 cars and their idiosyncrasies. There are some common faults that can be remedied so read and learn.

Hello and welcome to jaguarforums.com. I know that you are anxious to get started and we are anxious to meet you and talk about your car. We have a baseline / criteria that must be met before full access can be granted. Please enjoy the forum and be patient once the baseline has been satisfied full access will be granted. Please continue to post and accept my welcome to the forum.

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature when you get it. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Welcome to the forum ! A car with that sort of low mileage on it shouldn't have too many problems, although there are usually one or two small items to attend to; it's a secondhand car ! I assume it is one of the last X308 models, just before the aluminium-bodied X350 cars came out.

Main thing is to check it has been serviced correctly and at the right miles/intervals. There should be a service record and, hopefully, some invoices or other records. With this sort of mileage, I would expect servicing to have been every year rather than on miles.

Default Great Cars

I just sold my 2001 XJ8 - They are great cars. I think the 2003 models have the 3rd generation metal timing tensioners so that's a big thing you don't have to worry about. Good luck.
