Default 2004 xjr

After years of resisting the X350 body style, I finally made the leap from an X308. I really liked the more sultry body style, but wow, what a difference in car. I moved from an XJ8 to an XJR, and man, am I glad I did. So far, not too quirky, and a joy to motor around the Illinois expressways. The only thing I hate is the brake pads kick off tons of dust. Would like to change to ceramics, but most of them say "NOT for use on cars with electric parking brake". Has anybody used Ceramic or Kevlar on cars with electric parking brakes? Also, is the factory recommendation of 100k miles for belt changes/pligs/blower oil change/plugs realistic? Any suggestion for plugs that work especially well in a 2004 XJR 4.2? Thanks for any information anybody might have.

Welcome to the forum Enosgl,

Congratulations on the X350. Follow this link XJ ( X350 & X358 ) XJ6 / XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum for advice and help on suitable brake pads and much more.

This section is really for Intros so a post on X350 section with your tech questions is the best move.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
