2011 XK is really 2008 XK but Hello just the same
Hi! Read the Admin message on new guys and have already screwed up. That didn't take long. Came here looking for advice on a 2011 XK with 83,000 miles that was a good deal, but I was worried about the miles.
Ended up not buying that XK, but unless something goes terribly wrong, I will be picking up my 2008 Frost Blue XK with 42,000 miles on it later today. It was a trade in at a Porsche dealer here in California, and after they let me know that my driver's side reverse light was not working and they wouldn't adjust the price for the repair, I did a little research here
and decided that this single owner vehicle with the water pump already replaced, and a decent history of dealer maintenance would be worth buying.
I'm not particularly handy working on cars, but there is a good local indie Jag group in my beach town on the Central Coast here in California, and I figure I will learn along the way. I have an old battery tender from my Dodge Viper days, but will likely buy the one recommended here (CTEK?)
So wish me luck on picking up the new to me vehicle today, and a successful first 85 mile drive home with it. If you never hear from me today, the car didn't make the first drive home

Welcome to the forum 2011XK,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. Almost three hours since you posted your Intro so I hope you've made it the 85 miles home. As for the tender, CTEK is the brand most of us use.
I can see you've already found your way to the X150 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

Yes, we did indeed make it home from the dealer, and having just replaced the battery in the key remote, checking the oil on the much appreciated physical dip stick, and figuring out that it is going to take some time to get to the battery, I've double locked the Jag, and I'm now officially (for the first time since the 70s) a Jaguar owner.
