Default 3 Jag owner, glad I found this site!

Our first Jaguar was an '01 S-Type 4.0 Sport Edition. We love with this car but it has a temperment. Went through 3 transmissions, all under warrenty thank Goodness, and still fighting the "ever-on" check engine light. After throwing lots of money at that gem of a problem I now look at it more as a roulette wheel gamble, "will the light be on this time when we start the car?"

We saw the XF prototype and my wife fell in love with it, wondering how much the street version would resemble the prototype. I was wanting to go back to BMW, but after test driving the XF, BMW and a few others it was a no brainer decision, the XF was that good for the money. So we picked up an Azure Blue XF Premium Luxury in June of '08.

Shortly after that I came across a Quartz '05 S-Type R that was in Chicago that we fell in love with, so me and the 14 Year old daughter made a road trip from N/E Oklahoma to Chicago to go get it. Love that Jag also and the nice thing about the '05 is that it lost it's temperment that the '01 older sibling Jag has.

We could not bring ourselves to sell the 01 so we still have it and it will be, or is , our oldest daughters first car. The 12 year old boy has already called the STR and the 10 year old daughter is calling dibs on the XF, thankfully the other 2 are too young to worry about their first car.

Great story palerider, love the 'dibs' calling. I can see some pretty effective disciplinary tactics in regards to these as the kids grow up.

Welcome!
