'67 MK 2
Evening all....
Just joined, having purchased a 'project' which will keep me busy for the next few years.
Having finished my wife's '55 TBird I decided I quite enjoyed the process (despite the numerous evenings where I recall saying I wish I had never seen the car!) so decided to get me something from the UK.
I myself am a Brit, now living in WV, and having just come back from a trip to the UK I decided it would be nice to get a British classic. Always loved these cars in The Sweeney and found one 7 hours drive away. Got it at a low price (low price = tons of work).
The seller said it needs a cosmetic restoration. That's a bit like saying the Coliseum in Rome just needs a coat of paint.
It is a '67 Mk 11, previously owned by Janet Lee Bouvier (Jackie Kennedy's mother). I have original registration papers for her at the Hammersmith Farm (the family estate) etc so even though I doubt it in any way impacts the value it is a nice touch.
Pretty poor condition, last ran 20 years ago. Not touching it till I get a proper set of photos to document it.
I suspect I will be asking LOTS of questions.
