I am in the Miami area and I have a '96 Vanden Plas. I've owned the car for about 10 mths now and recently, problem after problem seem to surface. The current issue is that the car will not crank all of a sudden. No warning signs were given at all. So I have joined the forum to seek some good advice.

 

Try wiggling the gearshift then hitting the key.

Does the "P" on the gear indicator glow red? If not, the starter will not work.

I tried wiggling the gear shaft and no luck in cranking the vehicle. I had triple A check the battery and it's in perfect condition. The car is trying to crank but will not turnover. Now I am thinking that the fuel filter may need to be changed. The problem is that I am having the hardest time trying to locate the filter on this car.
