I would love to add my details but appear to be locked out of all other means of accessing the site, sorry for high jacking this thread, the pop up add for a video game is a real pain what demographic among jag owners is that meant to appeal to?

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Thanks for the welcome, I look forward to adding to the background knowledge of jag ownership. I was trying to get started using my smartphone/mobile browser but the site didn't like that at all, switching to a full site browser let me get into editing options.
As for the pop up there is an ad for a shoot em up computor game with a link to a preview which keeps on intruding at least on the mobile site. And it keeps on reappearing even after you click on its x to close it. At least the Amazon ad is to the side and doesnt interfere with input.
I'm hoping to start a thread whereby I collect photos of genuine parts that have come off jag x types.
My problem as a new owner was not knowing what to look for when ordering replacement parts from sources other than jag dealers. To get the ball rolling I've got both types of micro switch that jaguar confusingly used in the j gate to detect if the lever is in park, they all fail as you know, and cause an annoying click every time the brake pedal is used. Another set of parts are the xenon ballast and ignitor units, available at a fraction of the cost off ebay but how many people have seen the originals before stripping the bumper off to get at them. I've only owned my x type a month and already feel like a veteran, next job is to find out why activating sport mode (with the light working) appears to make no difference at all and if its normal on the 3.0 for it to do a double kick down and hit the red line when you floor it. Hope its an easy fix.
