Default Another 1st time Jag owner I'm afraid.

Hi there,

Well lets see I'm not only new to the forum, obviously, but also new to the Jaguar brand.

I just purchased a X-type, 2 litre diesel, in what I think is Spectrum metallic blue. Its all leather, and has the 17" Belize alloys

I love it to bits already, and for a diesel (my first sure) it doesn't half shift. (secretly I'm already plotting getting the 2.2 Diesel btw )

Basically though as someone new to all this I decided to join a forum and hopefully get decent advice to all my annoying little questions.

So, an apology up front to one and all.

Welcome Spiff. Don't worry about asking annoying questions, we all do from time to time You never know when you will have the answer to someone else's annoying question. That's the great thing about a forum like this, it seems there is always someone here who has done it, or at least thought about it.

welcome to the site spaceman, hope you're enjoying the experience so far!
X type 2.0 diesel can shift and is also very good on economy too..nice choice!
Why not drop by the off topic section and add your pic to the mug shot thread? Maybe join in with some of the banter type threads? There's usually plenty going on!
Don't forget to drop by the regional section too and add your name to the growing list there....
You should enjoy the X section.....loads of members, good info, plenty of posts and the x type quick FAQ link thread.
Personally, I love the X and it was my car of choice some time ago....really want an XKR but I'm poor....lol

As for going for the 2.2? Why not just get a remap on what you've already got? It'll only cost around £300 - £400 and essentially will give you a 2.2 anyways without having to change your car....
seriously check it out, you could probably get around 40bhp more plus loads of extra torque too...I've already done it to my Saab 93, Ford Mondeo ST Tdci and Audi A6

2.2 also available in automatic I reckon unlike 2.0 version
