Another new member
I'm another brand new member, just trying to figure out how this forum works. Have posted one post under "tech. help" or something like that.
I now have a 1998 XJS v-12 conv. with actual 35,000 miles total on it. Have owned it for about 15 years; had it in storage for the last 10 years. Reactivating it now (don't ask me why. I don't know).
New nearly everything that should be renewed: tires, battery, all fluids, filters, belts, hoses, engine computer, struts, fuel pump, brake pads, wipers and probably more!
Shop did not understand the anti-lock brake system. I loaned them the shop manuals, but I'm not sure they knew how to read!
Have determined for absolute certainity that the accumulator pump motor will not run - even with a separate 12 volt feed at the plug terminals.
Too expensuve to replace the whole accumulator unit. Am going to pull just the motor. Looks like to me that all the brake fluid will drain out when I do.
Would appreciate any advise or recommendations.
Thanks,
Sam-Tx
Also, this isn't my first Jag, Had an XKE and sold it years ago. Wish I hadn't. Spent a little time in Coventry, England at the Jag plant back in the early 1980's.
