Default New 85 XJ6 owner

Hey all -- I'm a new owner of an gently used '85 XJ6 doing a (hopefully) rolling restoration on the vehicle.

I found the car garaged in eastern Indiana, but it had been a Texas vehicle for many years, and the body rust (and lack of it) certainly shows that. It's had only 58k miles in its lifetime.

I'm starting with the fuel delivery system for the project, as that's very much in rough shape. The fuel pump won't start (I've not gone through the diagnosis steps yet) and the sender appears to be disconnected on both tanks (or non-operational) to the gauge. When the fuel pump is directly tied to the battery, the engine will start, but *very* hard. The cold start injector has been replaced recently, along with the fuel filters, the pump, and lines.

Anyway: just saying hello! I'm new to Jag, but not to British cars. My father had an AH 3000 when I was young, and we both have MG B's now.

Good to meet you all!

Welcome aboard!

Those old Ser III XJ6s are great cars and lack of rust is a real "plus", as you know.

Cheers
