New Member - 02 XK8 convertible - Engine Blown- OUCH
I am a new member and am hoping to get some help from this forum. I have read several posts on this site that have helped point me in the right direction.
I have a 2002 Jaguar XK8 converitible. Blue with Ivory interior. It has always been one of my favorite vehicles since a friend sold them for a dealer back in the 90's.
Now I have one and have loved it over the last 2 years. Recently the engine blew. It was getting a low coolant light but the temp stayed normal. I would check the resourvoir and maybe put a cup in every week. This had been going on for 3 weeks. I found a small wet spot under radiator and had it pressure tested. Found small leak at neck. Was going to get fixed later that week. Need to get parts.
Driving to Tampa and light came on. no biggie I thought. Then about 3 minutes later I lost oil pressure. By time I got pulled over it was knocking. Dealer says rods and engine are cooked.
I love my jag and the exterio and interior are great. Need to get engine replaced. Any thoughts are ideas would be appreciated.
If anyone has an engine I would like to purchase one. It is standard 4.0L. No turbo or extra's. Car has 80K.
Thanks for any help or ideas.
