Hi, I have just joined and am finding the site quite difficult to navigate, but here goes...I am at my wits end with my Jaguar S type 2.5 auto 2002. The problem is it won't start..it's ok from cold but when I have run about then stop, it goes completely dead ! it will usually start after half an hour or so, by which time I've called the AA and the thing starts straight away grrr. I have replaced a cat, the battery, alternator...I get no dash lights showing a problem...anybody have an idea ? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum Lirva38,

The site can be a bit tricky at first - there's so much information here. I've put links in below to get you to the right places for your vehicle and location.

Sounds like you need to have the DTC codes read to find out what's up with the S-Type.

Follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type section for help, advice and information.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK Region section by following this link UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Hi & welcome aboard Lirva38, Its good to have you here with us here at Jaguarforums.

The site is really pretty easy once you spend a little time here.....If you have any questions though or need help, please just ask.

As for your problem? Getting the codes read would be a big help in pointing to the cause.
I had a similar problem once and it turned out to be the crankshaft sensor....
