Hello, My name is Jim and I am from the Pittsburgh PA area. I am in the autobody repair bussiness hence my user name. Occasionally I pick up damaged vehicles to fix up. My significant other has had the dream of owning a Jaguar S Type for many years. Well, one came up for auction and I bought it for her. It is a White over Tan 03 with the 3.0 V6, moonroof and Alpine stereo. Not sure what other options it has right now. Damage is to the right front but not really that bad. The best part is it only has 20,000 miles on it and is clean as a pin otherwise!

I found this site last week and have already learned quite a lot. Several people have told me to stay away from these cars due to reliability and repair cost issues. I obviously do my own work so the labor isn't an issue. Reading some of the tips and knowing there is a place to get help made the decision to buy easier.

So the first thing I will be doing is locating the body parts. The local wrecking yard found a hood, fender and headlight so far. I am going to pick the car up later today and will have to access what all it will need. I am looking forward to learning all I can from the other members here. Hopefully we don't have a lot of trouble that I need to ask about.

Thanks for the welcome. One thing I have quickly learned is this isn't like scrounging parts for a used Grand Prix! But the result will surely be worth it. I'll be taking some time gathering parts that hopefully don't break the bank completely. Photo journal is a good idea cause this one is a definite keeper. Always will have the title brand but this car is too nice to get parted.
