Hello, fine people. I'm new to the Jaguar scene, having just purchased a beautiful '99 XJ8. It's the first car I've owned that I've been somewhat obsessed with, so I think I made a good purchase. I lurked around the XJ forums and gained quite a bit of insight, so I figured I'd sign up so I could properly bug everyone.

I've never been very mechanically inclined but I'm hoping to learn how to do a good deal of maintenance myself. I've got some good mentorship here locally, but nothing beats a hivemind of knowledgeable and experienced people. Perhaps if I pay attention long enough I might be able to contribute a few answers as well.

Welcome to the forum TheNeophyte,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums and to know you found useful information here to help with your purchase of the XJ8.

After your lurking experience, you won't require a link to the X308 tech section from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Southwest Region forum by following this link Southwest US - AZ TX NM OK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
