Arabian horses
That was the big argument between my friends and myself who keep on bothering me about my choice to own a jaguar. In their opinion a Mercedes, Toyota or other is a better choice, more reliable and easy to maintain with spareparts all over town. While Jags are like women, beautiful as they are they are expensive to run and easily broken. My argument was always that Arabian horses are indeed easy to brake, delicate, fragile and one needs to spoil them much like Jags. But for Christ sake, stop recomending a land cruiser for I would never trade my pure breed arabian with a ... camel.
I am new on that forum and I have already took valuable advices from fellow members. I am in advertising and I am re-located in Beirut, Lebanon my home town after 6 years in Dubai, UAE. Jaguars represent for me a poor man's Bentley the same way a Sunday mass is a poor man's opera. I am very happy with that choice, it is elegant, well balanced, and turn heads in a country where all have Mercedes and BMWs, and when the necessity occurs my engine can put any other car to shame.
I am a mechanic enthusiast and I do work on my car personally. I went into partnership with a local mechanic just to be able to use his tools and play with him. The only problem I am facing is the lack of spare parts for Jags. Obviously the local dealer has it all but as you can presume it is expensive which I don't mind if they were good at fixing things (they are good at changing components) in that I cannot argue they are great at interpreting a scan and replacing the defected item (unscrewing and screwing).
All exited to be part of your lovely community, please accept my friendship

I agree with you on the beauty of Jaguars. I have always loved the style of them - especially the XJR's. So I finally bought one 3 years ago. It is a black 2003 XJR with R1 performance package (and tan interior, 5 spoke wheels). I LOVE this car. Sure parts can be expensive (although I am sourcing used parts and aftermarket) but drive this car and all those concerns go away. This car drives like a dream and with 370hp under the hood - it pulls like a freight train.
