Bought mum an x300...
Hello. So....
X300 '96
Never worked on jags before so was fun buying AF tools to do odd things. Anyway, it was a basically free car, I just need to do alot to it. Plan was at the time to fix the leaking Pas pipework, sort the gaping holes on the outside and any rust underneath and the easy task of just changing the head gasket as it had the common oilway leak front right. It's already a write-off but wanted to get a year or two out of it and prob break it for parts after when it's TOO rotten-as-a-pear lol. That and mum crashes into things alot so didn't mind grabbing a cat S lol.
As usual, just when I didn't need it- poxy head bolt snapped while taking off the bloody head! Just as lockdown1 started, so anyway long story short, quicker to get another engine and slap it in. So found another Bog standard aj16 3.2 block and head and it's in. The planned jobs, that I knew about are done, just gotta get him through an MOT. It is a lovely car, not the best looking Jag, but the last of the jags I WANT to look at 😂
My s class of the same body, year, weight, engine size and also automatic, it genuinely drives as slow as a bus and is as comfortable as wheeling a shopping trolley along a Roman age cobble road! So I was pretty impressed with how comfortable and quickly it shifted lol. Anyway, I will now post a thread somewhere of the issue I now have with the car. All that's stopping me from getting an MOT lol.......

**The Merc is terrible in comparison lol
Oh and **I bought this as a crimbo present for mum, was tired of her last car constantly having problems and was sick of fixing it so this came up and thought it would be nice for a while, was still too good to scrap.

Hello, Max,
If you got it cheap, and your mum runs into things a lot anyway, you might as well let her bash around in Style!
