Default A brief introduction just to say hello

They call me Jack. I am not a gearhead but, have done most of my own repairs begining with a 1960 VW Microbus and its underpowered 36 Hp engine. That would have been in 1967. I know my way around an engine and have a fair collection of handtools.

8 years ago I married, Dorothy, and she had a 1990 XJS Classic convertible
in her garage. It was drivable but seldom driven. It been driven even less since then. In 2011 it got a total of 67 miles on the road. It did not get much more than that this year. Currently it is a non-starter. No fuel pressure. Filter replaced. Fuel pump questionable. Will fire with starter fluid. I found lot's of good information reading these forums. So at this time I am not asking for advice.

The Car is in Boise,ID and I won't be getting back to it for roughly six months. The 3 1/2 miles of washboarded gravel road into my summer home
would take a great a toll on it.

So I'll be reading posts mostly and seldom posting until late fall when I can get back to being baffled by a V-12.

A word of thanks to all who have previously posted. I have learned from
your Q & A's

Welcome to site Jack. That's a great story about your bride and her car. The combo must have been irresistible.

Welcome to the forum.

Good to see you.

Nice intro. Best of luck with the XJS, when you get around to it.
