After years of tinkering with other makes, I have finally wandered in to Jaguar territory and acquired a 1999 XK8 4.0L Convertible through some friends.
The resources put together by Gary VanRemortel and the information on this forum are quickly helping me familiarize myself with the car.
I've been reading through the workshop manual and engine/trans technical guide, but have not yet been able to access the 1999 (USA/NA) Driver's Handbook. Unsure if this is due to my new member status or if the mediafire link is no longer functioning.
The vehicle is sitting at ~155000km and has been in storage for ~2 years.
At first glance it will need a brake service and some coolant leaks around the thermostat housing addressed on top of typical fluid flushes and checks.
Some upholstery and paint flaws will be on the list as work progresses.
The engine appears to be content, no smoke on its first start since storage or any subsequent startups. A dealer tag on the door states the S479 ECM re-flash was done in August of 2000.
I will also be trying to find the best source for a replacement left side headlight washer cover.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Canada Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/canada-73/ to find other members in your region.
If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.
