Default First Car for my daughter.

Hey all. Thanks ahead for all your help. I always turn to these forums when I get a new vehicle. There is so much info.

Just bought a 2004 X-type 3.0L manual transmission with 131,000 mile from the auction this week. Now time to go to work on it before giving it to my daughter for her 16th Birthday in a month.

Welcome to this friendly forum.
You're a brave man giving a car like that to a 16 year old. I let mine drive the ride-on mower if she's lucky!

Welcome to the forum,

Lucky daughter.

Sounds like you know your way around here to the X-Type section. Hope the work is all straightforward.

Good to have you with us.
Lucky girl!

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Welcome kccode! I think an X-type is a perfect car for a new driver, its got style, without being too fast to worry about doing anything 'crazy' with the right foot. I'd remind her of the body panel repair work and headlight/tail light costs (you can go here to a sponsor of ours for an idea of parts costs), and that may help extend her distance between a car in front, and also result in more head turns when backing up! lol
