Default First Time Jag Owner, 2007 XK, Maryalnd

Hi everyone,
Picked up my first ever Jag last week from New Jersey. As a baby booming Brit this is a childhood dream come true. She's an absolute beauty. It's a 2007 XK coupe in Indigo blue, camel interior and 20" wheels. Has only 7k miles. Yes only 7k!!! Absolutely mint with no marks at all. Love it.

I have a few issues though.

Tires
I want to change the tires from the Dunlop Sport Maxx. The Dunlops have plenty of tread left on but thgey're noisy and 5 years old!!! I'll probably go with the Hankooks. Not 'cause they're cheap but reviews are good and I want a smoother running tire.

Headlights
Also any hints on headlight adjustment. Drivers side dip is too low. High beam is great. I saw one post on here but no answer. I checked the UK forum and one thread mentioned there's an allen key behind each light. I need to check that out.

Welcome to the forum sjtyrer. Congrats on the new Jaguar.

Head on over to the XK Section to post technical questions. The fellows there are quite helpful and very knowledgable.

Enjoy all the site has to offer!

Welcome to the forum SJ.

As per above, head out to the XK section.

Suppose you could always put 'slicks' on it. They would be pretty smooth.

I mounted VREDESTEIN TIRE ULTRAC SESSANTAS on my 2008 XK. Sessantas are manufactured in the Netherlands, and are reasonably inexpensive (less than $1,000.00 for all four delivered, mounted, and balanced). They look great and ride quiet. They are also the best rain tire I have driven on, like having a squeegie mounted at each corner of the car...

I definately recommended them...

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I'm looking forward to exchanging ownership experiences of this beast.

I'm still undecided on replacement tires. Thanks Stillwater for the VREDESTEIN recommendation. They're definitely an aggressive looking tire and reviews look good. To be honest I was hoping someone on this forum may have had experience with the Sumitomo HTR Z III's. Tire Rack reviews are good and I had a set on my Infiniti and they were great. Ride comfort versus on the limit handling is my priority. Trouble is these are a much wider and lower profile tire.

I've loaded a couple of pics from my iphone. I'll post some better ones shortly.

Steve
