First time Jag owner
Hi everyone, I bought my first Jag yesterday as a treat for passing my PhD. I went right in the bargain basement of auto trader and found myself a 54 plate 2.1 petrol X type saloon for 1500 quid. FSH, 74k, cream leather interior and metallic gold colour. Aside from threatening me with lung cancer it's quite tidy inside. There's some damage to the center console area I'd like to fix up at some point. So far my only issue has been a blown fuse on the 12V socket, but a new one has been ordered. I thought the windscreen washer pump had an issue but I was just pressing the wrong thing! The car had a worryingly low level of oil in it when I bought it and had obviously been stood for a good while, but it still starts on a dime and with full tires its a comfy drive.
This is my first 'luxury' car, as my pedigree comes from hatchbacks selected primarily for their fuel economy and/or cheap insurance. In order:
02 Renault Clio 1.2L Petrol
06 (I think) Peugeot 206 1.6L diesel
54 Honda Jazz 1.4L petrol written off my a cat theft
10 Mazda 2 sport 1.5L petrol
Other than my jazz, I haven't really loved any car before, I loved that for it's bulletproof nature and oodles of room for moving houses during uni. I do love the look and feel of my Jag though! It was a toss up between this and a Chrysler 300C but the Jag won the approval of my fiance (and the insurance quote).

Drove out to visit my father on the farm one weekend bout 20 years ago and found him putting up a new section of fence for the cows. He appeared to be working some manual tool quite skillfully and stopped to greet me as I asked what he was doing. "Guess you didn't know your old dad had his PHD, did you? I'm a certified Post Hole Digger!"
