Default First Time JAG Owner 99 XK8 Conv

Jaguar XKE v12 has always been my dream car and I finally got the OK from the Wife to have one. Well, its not that exact one..but it will do. 99 Jaguar XK8 Convertible!! Even though I have 2 children, 13 & 10, having this car with no room in the back seat for them to sit was not practical!! But, who ever said practical was FUN!!! I hope to find many helpful people here and will become a person to help others after my learning period. I live in the middle of the country in the corner of MO, AR, KS, OK! We just had a snow storm when I went to drive this car. I hope that the weather now will be good for TOPLESS driving. I am not new to convertibles, when i was in High School i purchased a 68 Chevy Impala Convertible and still have that car now ... ok.. I need to re-build this one and should have spent the money on it... but... that would have been practical too!!! I will get to it when i get to it. Right now... I am really happy to have this 99 XK8 Rag-top for my daily driver.

Happy to be here and looking forward to have great help and build good friends in here. Anyone from around my area...??? Yell out to me!!!

Welcome Turbo, great first Jag you have purchased. Just be glad that the kids are too young to be learning to drive.

Nice intro.

Not sure what you did with the pic, but I am guessing that it is to do with the forum probationnary period and the file path chosen.

All the best,

Default Welcome aboard

Welcome aboard and congratulations on your new ride. I too am new and just picked up a 99 XJR. I decided to take the practical route and get the saloon so that I could justify the pleasure of the supercharged V8! Mine is also my daily driver, and at 90 miles a day and upwards of 4 hours in the car, one wants to be riding in a vehicle that you love rather than just a run of the mill commuter car!

I hope that snow goes away quickly so you can enjoy that rag top.
