Floyd
I'm glad to be here with others who love jaguar.
I have a 1972 jaguar xj6 series 1.. She's been a pain in the backside for a few years.
I bought her from a young kid who wasn't looking at restoring her.
She had a few issues with water getting into the fuel. I put a fuel cell in the trunk. Cleaned all the fuel lines. Her issue now is that it won't run.. I've rebuilt the carbs and the distributor (dizzy).. All I can get from her is some popping as she tries hard to start up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Forums.
NOT the trch area, BUT, sounds like the HT leads are one post out, or phased clockwise instead of Anti clockwise.
Members in the Series Section will have more input.
Good luck.

Hello, Floyd,
The fact it pops back says there's an ignition problem.
Grant's experience goes back to when Noah got off the Ark so he probably has the right idea.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
