Default G'day from Western Australia

Hi I owned a series 111 xj6 back in the 80's when I knew nothing about jaguars besides what I had read.Unfortunately it was an english import and I learned about Jaguar rust the hard way.The rear suspension was held together with painted rust.I have always been sure I would get another one.In my opinion still the best looking car made and the only car I would drive just for the pleasure of being in it.I am looking at a 1988 xj12 sovereign on the internet but it's on the East Coast and I would not buy one without checking it in person. So hopefully I will find the right one soon.

Welcome to the forums kwaka12mark,

My XJ's used to dissolve from the bottom up in less than five years in the 1970's. The combination of frequent rain and road salt in the English Winter was lethal.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-i-ii-iii-16/ to the SXJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum for help, advice and information on the models you are considering. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Australia - Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...ia-western-96/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello,
I also agree that the Series Xjs are the Most Beautiful cars ever made. If it should come to pass, Heaven Forbid, that I have to divest myself of mine, I would be almost immediately in search of another one.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
