Got my first xj8
My name is Ryan just got a 1999 xj8L for $400 that had what you guys call a bore wash. Posted in the forum for help and was helped promptly. Turns out it had a faulty wiring job at the throttle body. After it was all fixed started right up with a mighty roar. Now doing a oil change to take it for a test drive.
Also what is the difference between the base model and the L model?

I can see you've already found your way to the X308 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

The XJ8L is the long wheelbase body which has an extra four inches length in the rear passenger floor.
