Greetings from Chicago
Hello everyone!
I purchased my XF mid-February of this year - a 2012 Portfolio. I had scheduled maintenance at the Jaguar/Land Rover dealer for my 2012 Range Rover Evoque and was asked if I was up for a Jaguar test drive. It was the last new 2012 XF the dealer had left and it was being offered with a $10k discount (great deal as it seems to have most options). I had NEVER considered Jaguar and what sealed the deal was the test drive and the incredible 5.0 V8 (my previous vehicle was a BMW 650i so I'm biased towards V8 engines).
My friends and family are somewhat shocked I have become such an Anglophile when it comes to vehicles (had been 100% loyal to the Germans until now), but I have nothing but praise for the overall quality that Jaguar/Land Rover has been able to achieve - absolutely NO issues over 1 year with the RR Evoque and 6 months with the XF (much to the chagrin of JLR haters who warned me about reliability issues
).
Over the last 6 months I've done numerous mods to the car: replaced stock 19" rims for black ones, tinted windows, installed DVD-in-motion interface, black grille with chrome surround, XFR diffuser, sport spoiler, rear wheel spacers, Mina Gallery sport exhaust, carbon fiber side vents and carbon fiber side mirror covers. I'm almost done - next up is replacing the front chrome trim pieces for black ones and I believe it will be a finished product! (had considered replacing the nav antenna for the "shark-fin" style 2013 antenna, but decided I like this one better).
Here are a few pics of my "almost completed" XF. I look forward to being an active member of the forum.
