Default Greetings, and happy holidays!

New member here, as my name suggests, I drive a Lincoln.. an 01 LS to be specific. I don't own a Jaguar, but I've always appreciated the xjs, x-types, and s-types, and am thinking about getting one to replace my Lincoln once it's fixed
My reason for joining here is that the secondary tensioner failed in my LS rendering the car useless. I began looking for timing tools to fix it, but they're super-expensive for the Lincoln, and apparently the same tools are used for Jaguars, but they're cheaper when bought for a Jaguar as opposed to a Lincoln. An internet search brought me here, but apparently 10 posts are necessary in order to message somebody. Here's my first.. If you took the time to actually read this, thank you, and happy holidays!

Welcome to the forum Lincoln_08,

This is an unusual turn of events. We normally have Jaguar V8 owners turning to Lincoln for help with tensioner issues!

Both the X308 and the XK8/XKR tech sections have plenty of info on timing chain issues although I suspect you want to contact a particular individual from the piece in your Intro about Private Messaging.

The 'HOW TO' thread in the XK8/XKR section has a lot of information on tensioners. Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ts-data-29800/ and scroll down the 'Tensioners' for further links.

Hope you get the Lincoln fixed and can move on to a Jaguar.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

I forgot to thank you JimC64 for making that possible, and thank you guys for the welcome.

GGG, thanks, I'll check that out, and it's nice to see everything organized like that, it's very helpful. On the Lincoln forum I'm on, if your issue is less common, you're forced to search through hundreds of old threads.
