Greetings from Southern Md.
I think I finally found my way into this site. Very complicated. I am not that computer friendly. Got my first Jag, 97 XK8 with 45,000 mi. and I really enjoy it. Little apprehensive regarding the timing chain issue but so far no problems.

That's low miles on a '97 but you're right to consider checking timing chains as the tensioners are a known weakness.
There's a huge amount of information here and it can be daunting to find your way around at first.
