Default Hello

Hello I am Ian from Edinburgh, UK and just joined the Forum. I have just bought an XJ8, 1998 year with gearbox problems.

Don't know much about it as its an Ebay unseen one from a breakers yard that thought it too good to break, we will soon see.

If it is just the box I will be happy as I have built a few of the ZF boxes.

I will post again after the weekend when I pick it up.

Good luck Ian. I just finished doing the ZF in my wifes X5. A lot easier to fix than I thought!

Welcome to the forum Ian,

Hope the unseen XJ8 doesn't disappoint. For any other issues, head to the X308 section where you'll find plenty of info.
I'm in awe of anyone who can rebuild an auto box - a total mystery to me!
Graham

Default Now a Jaguar owner

Picked the car up at the weekend. It had the usual A clutch drum fault but that's all fixed now, thanks to the bank holiday Monday I had time to do it.

Just need to check over the rest of it and get it MOT'd.
