Default Hello!

I just purchased a 1998 XK8 with 30,000 miles. Topaz convertible, very clean.

Welcome to this friendly Forum.
Nice low mileage. This is the section for your car

Worth reading up about secondary chain tensioners and have a look at this to see if you've got the good or bad top hydraulic hoses

Steve,
Thanks so much for the helpful advice. Before we investigated our mirror problem, I noticed an oily substance around the garage door opener buttons. I'm wondering if I'm running into a problem with the hydrolic latch for top? We have since removed the light assembly on top of windshield and can't see any active leak. According to car fax there was a fluid change for the system in 2001.

Default Beautiful

CMS-

The XK8 would have been my first choice, but I still have a ten year old + friends to haul around, so I bought the XJ8, my second favorite. Your car is beautiful.

Here is mine-

Thanks, We were fortunate to find a 1998 in such good condition with such low mileage. Yours is beautiful, too. I had 1992 XJ6 Vanden Plas, White with tan interior, but wasn't practical for winter driving in Northern Michigan.
