Hello all :)
Hello there, I'm new to the forum as my dad and I are huge car enthusiasts (predominantly Jaguar) and he owned a 2007 XJR Portfolio Edition 4.2l V8.
I'm 19 and run a custom car modification shop. I myself am a Japanese car enthusiast through & through. The whole 'tuner' & 'turbo power' scene if you like.
"So why are you on the Jag forum?" I hear you ask. Well, my interest in cars spawned from the day my Dad drove me to the Guy Salmon Dealership (I still remember the name of the garage & I was about 11 at the time!) and he saw this absolutely gorgeous XJR Portfolio Edition sitting there. It didn't take long to reach a decision as it was a car he had longed for for quite some time, and the test drive sealed the deal there and then.
Since that day I've taken a massive interest in cars, and even though I've become a serious Japanese car enthusiast, there is one non-jap brand I will always have a soft spot for... Jaguar.
Unfortunately my dad suffered a severe stroke 2 years ago which left him predominantly wheel-chair bound And I was faced with the tough decision of having to relinquish his beloved Jag. Quite possibly the most difficult decision I've ever had to make as I knew how much it meant to him, but sadly at the time I was a few months off having my own licence so there was no way of me keeping it for myself, and my dad didn't like my Mum driving it haha!!
We do have a private plate which my dad bought... X1 XJR - which we still have as I've refused to sell it as one day I plan on buying back my Dads old Jag for him and putting the plate back on it so he has something nice to drive around in once again (he isn't a fan of driving around 2 inches from the floor in my 1997 and 2002 Japanese sports cars haha) but In reality, that will be a fair few years in the future before I can afford that again. The sentiment is there, as I know how much he misses that car, but it's just not going to happen soon. So we are currently taking offers on the number plate if anybody is interested
The Jag in all its glory. Plus the number plate.

Lovely looking car and a great sentiment James
Please consider adding this post into the classifieds section where it should be, perhaps a link into a thread within the UK forum....I'm guessing around £1000, maybe a little more??
