Hi all, nice to be here.
I'm a retired mechanic but I do still like to have a tinker with my own cars to keep on top of the workings although due to health I can no longer do as much as I would like to.
I have recently familiarised myself with Jaguars again for the first time since 1993 which was my last one before now.
My new car is a 2014 XF 2.2 diesel which has been mapped to 235bhp and a lot more torque
I have spent the last few months replacing what needs doing and upgrading it just so that it looks a little more unique without destroying the great XF points, the wheels have been painted in a shadow chrome, callipers are red with a white Jaguar logo and just had a set of black Piranha brake discs fitted all round, full window tints 18% at the backs and 50%
on the fronts. I covered the interior wood with black gloss carbon fibre wrap which I think looks so much better than the light wood that was fitted and coloured the leather in gloss black. Fitted a custom made steering wheel cover and rebadged it to get rid of the dust trap at the base.
My next upgrade is for a full length Tesla style screen with dash cams, reversing camera and TPMS internal sensors. I need to work out how to fit the new stereo yet so I'm hoping for some help and advice here.
Still much to do to make me a very happy driver but it's definitely getting there.
I hope to be able to not only learn about my own forthcoming projects but also to help others if my wisdom stretches to it, lol.
If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.
