Firstly if this is a genuine membership "I appologize unreservedly" , but come on guys/gals.

IF PIMP. wants to get an S1 E type as a first Jag, should we not think more closely about what is clearly a DUFF membership/post?

PIMP if you are genuine, I appologize but, suggest that you edit your handle.

Well...I guess that's that.

pimp...understand that we have a lot of posts like yours...people coming in saying that they don't yet have a Jag, then say something that most people don't expect (like their first Jag being one of the more expensive older types). Translator apologized prior to his post, so I think that you should think about that, too. (besides...he's not French...he just lives in France).

 

OK...well how about instead of going off half-cocked (like anyone would expect from a person with a name like pimp1911 - yes I know what a 1911 is), break the mold, accept his apology with the understanding as to what I said about spammers and scammers in our beloved forums, and move on. There are a lot of great things to be learned and a lot of great people here.

He doesn't know you...true...hence the reason for his post. He didn't know if you were a spammer or not (and we tend to err on the side of safety). He doesn't know how much money is in your wallet...true...but neither does anyone else. He doesn't know your interest in cars...true...that's what you're here for - to tell us all about your interest in cars. You have a 65 Mustang in your garage. That's an awesome piece of machinery!! Yes, we WOULD love to see pics of your Pony!!! Though it may be in pristine shape, as well, '65 Stangs are worth a fraction of what a classic E-Jag is...even in crap condition.

There are very few of us left in the world, pimp (those of us that truly love the older model cars...like my '76 XJ12).

Take a deep breath...maybe you should go back and reread translator's post and realize that he wasn't expecting you to be a real person. Most people who introduce themselves who are spammers, etc., have simple one-lined intros. That's why he apologized not once, but twice in his post:

Please accept the apologies that I made in my first post, and Welcome to the forum.


I hope that you do indeed find your E Type and are able to contribute to this great forum.


I have no idea, nor do I have any interest in what you have in your wallet (unless perhaps I happened to have an E Type for sale, which I don’t).


I still stand on the handle, but that’s just my personal opinion. If you want to be known as Pimp, go right ahead.

I also love the E Types, a next door neighbour used to take me out in his rag top when I was a boy.
