Default Hello from Colorado

Not a current owner but am on the hunt and thought I'd learn from those who know. Have my eye on a 2018 XF 35t R Sport, 42k, regular oil changes, and accident-free per Carfax. Checked it out on Wednesday but was crunched for time so went back yesterday to give it a drive. Not sure what I was expecting but was satisfied with the ride. Tracked straight, had good pickup, and no funny sounds. It is a beautiful car. I've read about some common issues with the plastic parts r/t sc and the cooling system failures/leaks....as well as bushing failures. Carfax has nothing related to the replacement of any parts but, does have "Transmission removed and reinstalled" at 6300 miles. I was quoted just under $24k out the door. Seems like a good deal but am looking at other brands as well so not quite ready to pull the trigger.

Guess I'm looking for validation that purchasing would be a good idea lol. Also, any advice related to common problems like where to specifically look for signs of failure (cracks typically appear here type of things). Didn't see any coolant under the car which was in the same parking spot as the day before. Not sure if I can link the page but it shouldn't be hard to find if you search for it. Are the aftermarket warranties worth picking up for the XFs? Saw someone on a post elsewhere on the interwebs (can't remember where) say it won't cover the common issues known to the model so it's not worth it. If I do purchase I plan on taking it to my local Jaguar dealer for inspection as there's a time/distance return guarantee. Thanks for listening, any advice is appreciated.

Welcome to the forums AirAssault,

With any used Jaguar, provenance is critical. A full service history (at 42K miles this should be serviced on a time basis every 12 months) and ideally a folder full of bills for work done.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xf-x260-99/ to the X260 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Central Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-central-36/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums and I hope the XF checks out OK.

Graham

Welcome to the forum. Where I’m from (Niagara Canada), the exact car you’re after is listed online for anywhere between $21 -$26k but higher mileage (100 - 140 km on the odometer). Sounds like your deal is pretty fair, in Canadian dollars at least.
