Hello from Denver
Hello. Long time BMW owner here who is interested in an XF.
Saw a video from Jaguar about winter mode, so I figured an XF with all seasons would suffice. I don't plan on any forays into the Rockies, just driving on roads already plowed.
Love the look of the XF and want to stay with V8's. Compared to BMW and MB, there is real value with the Jag.

Just drove an XF at the Jag Drive Alive event and they had a winter-mode test-drive demo. Most impressive. I have been driving Lexus LS sedans, year-round including to ski resorts, since 1997 (1993 then a 2003). An LS with real snow-ice tires (Blizzak, Michelin Arctic Alpines, Yokohama > had them all) can handle serious snow and ice so a new XF with those will be super duper. I would also mention you will do fine with normal all-seasons (Michelin MXV4 or modern Michelin equivalent) during the first year or two in winter conditions. No kidding. I doubt I rank as more than an average driver so it is not skill.
XF in winter mode at demo, I drove as did everyone else, was amazingly smooth and non-eventful for maintaining positioning even under full throttle. No drama, no disconcerting noises.
Get the XF with normal high-quality all-seasons and you will be fine for this winter and the next.
